Thursday's BCBG Max Azria show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week was anything but traditional. It seems as though the brand tossed out the typical BCBG woman look, and dug a little deeper for the fall collection. Most of the looks featured layering: t-shirts topped with heavy sweaters and coats. Style dot com describes the collection as "more street than sweet" which is exactly what it was. "We wanted to take something that was centuries old and combine it with something modern," Lubov Azria said at a preview for the collection. Having said that, they took almost a gypsy look and transformed it, combining that look with pattern play, patchwork and statement outerwear. There were more conservative looks on the runway, too, such as a clean mesh tuxedo tank top that I couldn't take my eyes off of. Below are some of the images from the show. Comment below with your opinions of these looks. It was a tough, urban showcase for sure. Who doesn't love edgy?
It's very Los Angeles street chic to me now that I think of it...
