Black and White and [Anything But] Boring

Through color we see mood, but we see it just as deep within black and white. Sometimes we may even see it sharper than if it were in color. Color isn't everything, and black and white sure isn't boring.

Indulge in the beauty of [black and white].
Don't limit yourself to color.
Actually, don't limit yourself to anything.

The [september] Issue

A Vogue September issue is a golden ticket into Fall Fashion. And this in this September issue, Vogue Australia has shown the world what it's made of. Within the glossy pages of the magazine, we're able to see beauty at its best.

In the photos above, the Robyn Lawley by Max Doyle for Vogue Australia editorial is classic, yet modern. The timeless black and white styles have been transformed into wearable pieces that are on trend today. And on the cover, model Katie Fogarty [shot by Kai Z Feng] sports a strong statement in Louis Vuitton.
Not only is beauty timeless, but it's international.

"The Casual Mix Up"

Taylor Sterling of Sterling Style calls it "the casual mix up" because, well, it is. A perfect outfit for coffee with a fellow blogger, or a comfortable look for a day out shopping. The key word is casual. It isn't something you'd wear to dinner, or an event, but it's more of a simple lunch date look. The color scheme is simple, the pieces are staples, but the overall look says "style". See for yourself..

Exclusive Tiffany & Co. Sneak Peak!

Who doesn't love a sneak peak of a Fall collection? I know I sure do [especially from Tiffany & Co.]. In honor of Boston's first Fashion's Night out, one of Tiffany & Co.'s communications reps sent me an exclusive look book for their newest Fall Leather Collection. The collection features handbags, totes and even smaller accessories such as clutches, wristlets and wallets perfect for holding your most fabulous possessions.

It's not in Boston stores yet, but I've got the look book right here as a special surprise to all of you followers! The items are fabulous and timeless. And who doesn't love something that comes in a little blue box?

Tiffany Accessories (clockwise from top): french wallet in Tiffany Blue® grain leather, coin purse in Tiffany Blue® patent leather, City clutch (small) in Tiffany Blue® smooth calf, zip card case in silver grain leather, zip continental wallet in Tiffany Blue® grain leather.
These are my favorite from the collection, but it also include gloves, clutches and an additional satchel. But no worries! These items will be hitting the stores very soon. Aren't they fabulous? And if you're from Boston and plan on attending FNO, make sure to attend “Studio 57 at Tiffany & Co.”, a reference to a New York City iconic nightlife venue from the 1970’s, and will feature the launch of the Tiffany Era collection. The two events will be from 6-9pm and will include local DJs spinning inspired songs of the 60’s and 70’s, models, cuisine, and at Tiffany & Co. in Copley Place guests can step into a photo booth and have their picture taken, capturing memories of this wonderful night.

Make sure to "like" Fashion's Night Out Boston on Facebook and follow them at @FNOboston on Twitter as well! It's going to be a great night of fashion!

And as far as the Tiffany Leather Collection, I can only describe it in one word.. Breathtaking! Keep your eye out for these leather treasures, they'll be selling fast before you know it.

Stay Stylish!

Simple Summertime Staples

There's always going to be that white tee you resort to when nothing else looks good, and you're going to pair it with simple jean shorts. And that's what we call a staple. Your "go to" pieces, so to speak. But without accessories, this could get a bit boring.. So with these essentials, you'll need some accessories to tag along!
Equipment BlouseJ Brand Denim Shorts/Sorrelli Mimi Necklace/Jimmy Choo ClutchDeborah Lippmann Pink Polish/Michael Kors Watch/Topshop Loafers

Pictured about are two staple pieces along with some quirky additives. Spice your outfit up however you'd like, but this is a fun way to look chic yet simple. Follow these easy tips below to a fun, DYI outfit!
1.) Add some color- With these loafers and pink nail polish, you're no longer a white and denim outfit, you're a simple look with a "pop". You're adding color with the polish and the shoes and also you're adding texture with the yellow, suede shoes.

2.) Let it shine- By adding a gold watch, you're allowing yourself to shine. A watch can also be considered a staple, but this fabulous time teller is no ordinary one! You'll be looking fabulous and [hopefully] you'll never be late!

3.) Pattern = diversity- Two words: cheetah clutch. LOVE this piece. It adds a splash of pattern to your outfit, and extends the attention to the tips of your fingers. It's an easy way to make a bold statement.

4.) Bling it- A necklace is an easy way to "bling it" all together. It brings attention to your torso, and if it's a pretty necklace, you've topped off your outfit with an A+.

I'm hoping these tips have [inspired] you to take a simple outfit a little bit further. As you can see, it's not hard! Looking chic is always worth a try. Add your own personal favorites, substitute one color for another, and add the textures and patterns of your choice. Put it all together for an A+ look!
Staple it!

Strictly Sexy [Harper's Bazaar UK]

Well, what do we have here? That would be Beyonce's spread [and cover]  in September's Harper's Bazaar UK. I think I'm becoming obsessed with foreign magazines.. But take a look for yourself, you'll be sure to obsess too!
Beyonce photographed by Alex Lubomirski and styled by Franck Benhamou for Harper’s Bazaar UK September 2011.

Bold eyes + bold red dress = A+
A picture's worth a thousand words, but in this case, these photos are worth millions of words. Enjoy!

Because Beige Is Boring

Modern space can really capture someone's eye, but without the right decoration, your space won't jump out at you. Currently swooning over Rice's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection, the bright colors bring out the pure white foundation of the interior space. I've always dreamed of decorating with a bohemian chic theme, but the boldness of these brights has me walking on the wild side.
...Why bright? Well Mr. Bright Bazaar says it all, because beige is boring. It's as simple as that. Dark colors can bring a dark essence to your home, while bright, bouncy hues can bring about a bubbly atmosphere.
And we can't forget about patterns and texture. These woven baskets [pictured above] have color, texture and pattern within the one simple design. It makes the table setting more interesting and the bold interior as a whole look more diverse. Instead of all flat and/or smooth accessories, the basket adds a "bump" so to speak.
The collection is quirky yet practical. The colors may be bright, but nothing about these items is strangely out of the ordinary. Think of it as a way to color block your home. It's creative and original! Could you see these pieces worked into your home?
Don't be boring... be bold!

Estilo de España

Katie Holmes has taken her remarkable beauty overseas. Taking a look through my first Vogue España [aka the best gift I've ever been given], although I couldn't translate the writing, the pictures are worth 1,000+ words. The magazine's edginess is what captured my eye the most. The stimulating visuals represent a difference in the cultures of each Vogue.

...Each magazine introducing fashion in its own culturally enhanced way. Where one Vogue differs from another is within its perception of style. One may take an edgier route than another, and that's what Spain's Vogue does. The captivating cover is sharp while in America, they're sometimes softer in tone. There are so many ways to communicate fashion and this is evident within international magazines.

La moda es la libertad.

I Now Pronounce You..

It may not have been royal, but it was a wedding to remember. When legendary model, Kate Moss, wed the Kills's guitarist Jamie Hince, she looked majestic. Describing the day as "magical" and "romantic", it looked nothing short of perfect. The looks, the love and the location all made for Kate's dream wedding. September's Vogue documents Moss's wedding to Hince through these stunning photos below.

Looks enchanting, doesn't it? Moss says the day couldn't have been more fairytale-esque, from the vows to the reception to the [various] gowns. My luck goes out to the newlyweds- I hope their marriage is as successful as Kate's career!
